GEOLOGY
![]() VICTORIA CASTLE-DONOVETSKY Ms. Castle is a full-time instructor at Cypress College and has lived and worked in Southern California all of her life. She has over twelve years of professional experience working as a geotechnical/environmental geologist. As a field geologist, she has supervised and participated in structural, fault and landslide investigations as well as oversight of trenching and drilling operations. Ms. Castle has published several geotechnical and environmentally related papers and have served as a technical expert and speaker at numerous nationally acclaimed professional seminars. Besides a degree in Geology, Ms. Castle has a Masters Degree in Business and a California State Engineering,Class A, Contractors License. As an instructor, she has taught at the middle school, high school and at tje university level. In addition, Ms. Castle has traveled extensively throughout the nation serving as an instructor at professional seminars in which the audience was comprised of engineers, geologists, technicians, managers and regulators at the local, state and federal level. |
OCEANOGRAPHY ![]() RUSSELL FLYNN Mr. Flynn has taught at Cypress College for over 20 years. He taught Physical Geology for many years and currently teaches Oceanography. During his career, this popular teacher won the Outstanding Teacher of the Year award at Cypress College. Having lived in coastal Southern California for most of his life, he has has the opportunity to witness, extensively study and document coastal changes throughout the years. His students appreciate his first-hand knowledge of the coastal region and his enthusiasm for the subject. Each semester, he takes students on exciting field trips such as to Sea World and Scripps Institute in San Diego and the Long Beach Aquarium. Mr. Flynn received his Bacholars of Science and Masters Degree from the San Diego State University.
